3/17/2007 - DE Shaun Smith Signs with Browns after Bengals fail to match Offer Sheet

The Cincinnati Bengals officially announced this morning that they will not match the offer sheet signed by Shaun Smith.

The interior defensive lineman signed a four-year, $8 million offer sheet with the Cleveland Browns last Friday. Various media outlets, including The OBR, have reported throughout the week that it was highly unlikely that the Bengals would match the offer.

Due to the tender given to Smith, the Bengals will receive no compensation from the Browns.
