4/28/2007 - Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn are Browns!!!

Cleveland Browns picked the safe pick with the 3rd overall draft pick in the NFL 2007 Draft. But the big news is the Browns traded back into the 1st round and were able to select a sliding Brady Quinn, QB from Notre Dame. Cleveland traded their 2008 first rounder to Dallas along with their 2nd rounder this year.

In essence the Browns only lose a second round pick for the opportunity to use next year's first this year. This affords the Browns the ability to get a known quantity with Brady Quinn this year instead of an unkown quantity in the next draft. The Browns fill 2 huge needs sooner rather than later and now look to have secured a franchise left tackle and quarterback.
