5/18/2007 - Do Browns see light at end of tunnel?
LeCharles Bentley has Surgery Scheduled
Get the Scoop
"We have been digging out of a hole for two years," the Browns general manager said Wednesday at the Northeast Ohio Celebrity Luncheon Club. "I really believe we are right on the edge of crawling out of that hole once and for all."
"Our window is just beginning to crack open," Savage said, sounding more comfortable and assertive than ever. "And when it opens, I think we're gonna be a real player, not only in our division but in the whole league."
LeCharles Bentley is scheduled for knee surgery June 4, and that surgery would knock him out of a second straight season. "There's a chance he may opt not to do it," Savage said. "By June 5, we'll know about '07, and '08 will still be out there as a question mark."
